Fess Parker passed away earlier today, which prompted a look in the photo archives we maintain for MiceAge. Perhaps most famously remembered for his portrayal of Davy "King of the Wild Frontier" Crockett for Walt Disney, it was in that role that he also helped to promote Disneyland as it was built and then opened. Parker returned to the park 50 years later to be honored with a window in Frontierland, to both note the half-century anniverary of that role and to help launch the park's own celebrations. The photos below document those two eras. - Al
