| Going Up!
(continued)

Originally the trams were to drive through the sets from
Martin Scorsese’s Gangs of New York. When WDI six years ago saw the set at the Cinecitta
Studios they were enthusiastic, but the suits thought that it was too violent a movie for a Disney audience.
It’s a pity we didn’t get these detailed sets as they were absolutely great.
Anyway, when the tram exits the London
sets, you can then see some of the vehicles used in Reign of Fire.

Let’s now go to the Magic Kingdom. It’s summer, and everything looks beautiful
in the park.

A mariachi now welcomes visitors in the Frontierland fort.
At the top of the fort, if you know just where to look, you can snap this picture
of the Phantom Manor with the Tower of Terror in the background. You don’t see it from the park
otherwise, so there's no visual intrusion.

The big news here is the return of the Molly Brown riverboat. A year ago, it was closed due to a
fire, and frankly, I didn’t expect to see it back so soon. The French government told
the park boat operators had to have a boat license, just as if they were working on the Seine river in Paris.
It’s ridiculous, and this is also why the keelboats aren't back yet. The other riverboat, the Mark Twain,
now is down for three months of maintenance and refurbishment.

Big Thunder Mountain was totally repainted for the 15th anniversary, and
looks really great again.
