Where Dreams Are True (continued)

The lighting only make it look prettier.
Slabs of concrete in the walkways are cut into squares, and at the
intersections, giant lug nuts poke out, as though these were welded plates of
steel on the ground. Talk about 'unnecessary detailing!'

There is fake lava, there is steam, there are dead branches.
Journey to the Center of the Earth is a Test-Track like ride through
highly-themed (and loud) sets, ending with a very large surprise.

Ignore the lame drilling ride from Las Vegas, circa 1992. This
is the real deal instead.

The set decoration is incredible!
20,000 Leagues Under the Sea is a 'dry for wet' submarine ride with tiny
little submarines, and the ability to move a spotlight around by yourself. Such
a simple effect, and so delightful. The whole land has details on the level of
Disneyland's Indiana Jones queue, but without any 'cop out' areas that are dark
instead of themed. The ENTIRE land is done this well! It's almost a requirement
to be delighted as you round a corner and discover yet more greatness.
You've seen Jurassic Park, when the theme park creator repeatedly points out
that he 'spared no expense'? That phrase doesn't make sense until you've seen
TDS.

Every square inch is painted and in-theme.

And the park is pretty big!

Oddly, there's a Cape Cod area. And it has no
rides or shows, which
makes it all the compelling as a place to visit and relax.
Frankly, as I critic I feel a bit flummoxed. Shouldn't there be something,
even something small, that I can point out? Some small suggestion for them? I
stand here humbled by my inability to find anything. The rides are amazingly
themed, the lands and sets lavishly and expensively decorated, and immersion and
illusion are all-encompassing.
Tower of Terror improves over the WDW and DCA versions, in story, in
technology, in immersiveness, and in just about every way. I won't give away the
surprises here.

This Tower is haunted by an evil idol that reminds me of the
'immunity
idol' from Survivor, but he's no laughing matter.

The Tower sits in the ultra-detailed American
Waterfront area of the park.
