EDITOR’S PICK
It's Leap Day! That means “One more Disney Day.” Disneyland and the Magic Kingdom will be open for a full 24 hours in a Disney publicity stunt. To celebrate, MiceChat's Monorail man has devised an entire day of meets and activities in our longest MiceChat event ever. Come join us for as much or little of the festivities as you'd like!

Q. Went to Disneyland at opening and noticed quite a lot of Disney suits with a bunch of other suits wearing Chevy lanyards in front of the castle going back and forth from backstage behind Tomorrowland and Main Street. Not sure what it meant but have never seen suits lead another group outside of Disneyland around the park before opening. - John
A. Alas John, it's not what you may have been hoping for; What you saw were local car salesmen on a Disney Institute tour where they explain the Disney service philosophy. Earlier that week it was Buick and Chevrolet, afterwards it was Toyota, then Ford later on. Chevrolet sent some of their dealers through the course first and there was a media piece on it earlier this winter, but now a sales organization for SoCal Auto Dealers is putting all its dues paying members through the program.
Before Chevy it was Ford, brochure art from 1964.
The Disney Institute in Anaheim, a distant relative of Eisner's pet project at WDW in the mid '90s, does these tours for lots of outside companies; Intel, Boeing, Sony, etc. They get a real glossy overview of the “Disney Way” with backstage tours and such. The participants often wear their company insignia or some sort of badge/lanyard as the Disney Institute segment is folded into a bigger day of company presentations and pep rallies in a hotel ballroom in Anaheim somewhere.
So, there won't be a big new E Ticket, presented by Chevrolet, breaking ground in Tomorrowland anytime soon. It was just your friendly car dealer on a morale boosting field trip to Disneyland. - Al

This week we take a look at the past, from the perspective of several different people. We also ask what additional holidays would you like to see Disneyland celebrate in a grander fashion. Then we wonder what is the better name, for that big new addition to DCA! ~ Aladdin
'Cars Land' or 'Radiator Springs'? bkroz asks what you think is a better name for the BIG addition to DCA. Did DCA get the name right? Or do Guests have a better name for the new area?

2/28: Kevin Yee – Night Rider Not too many years ago, Disney toyed with crafting an upscale, separate-admission, after-hours experience at Disney’s Animal Kingdom (DAK), to be called Night Kingdom. That plan would use additional facilities not seen during the daytime and have lots of one-on-one attractions (ziplines, rhino encounters, etc), and it would cost a pretty penny.
2/28: The Habit Heroes Go on Hiatus, Sea World announces Turtle Trek OpeningUniversal Preps for Summer
It has been an interesting week in the Florida theme parks. While we wait for the Fantasyland construction project to start wrapping up at the Magic Kingdom, the Sorcerers in the Magic Kingdom game has launched without a hitch. However, over in Epcot, the new Habit Heros interactive experience was shut down suddenly amid complaints and controversy. Meanwhile, the super popular Flower and Garden Festival is blooming once again. Finally, we stroll through Universal Studios Orlando to check on the progress of the projects there and give you a quick update about the latest at SeaWorld Orlando.
2/27: Your Guide to One More Disney Day! Are you ready to spend 24 hours in Disneyland? Wednesday is your rare chance to ride Indiana Jones Adventure at 3 a.m. or take a sunrise spin on the teacups as the park keeps its gates open for a full 24 hours to celebrate Leap Day. We've compiled all the information and schedules currently available for the park to help you prepare for your One More Disney Day. If pulling an all-nighter at Disneyland isn't your cup of tea, we'll also fill you in on the latest construction and news in both parks. Disney California Adventure is ramping up its refurbishments as Disney gets ready to host the park's grand re-opening this summer after five years of extreme makeover and expansion projects. Meanwhile, Disneyland's Matterhorn mountain continues to get new paint as part of its six-month refurbishment and work continues on Main Street's dining expansion project.
2/27: Happy Birthday Rolly Crump A very special Imagineer is turning 82 years young today. Happy Birthday Rolly Crump!!! In his honor, MiceTube contributor, Jeff Heimbuch, has produced a video. Be sure to take a look and share your birthday wishes to a legendary Imagineer.

2/25: Disney Mardi Gras, Behind the Scenes at Knott’s, Imagineer John Horny, Club 33
Join us as we celebrate Mardi Gras at the Walt Disney World Resort with a little known parade at Port Orleans Resort. The cast members who staged this parade put their heart and soul into it. Then we go behind the scenes at Knott's Berry Farm for view of the park that guests rarely get to see. We also pay tribute to Disney artist and Imagineer John Horny, who produced many stunning works for the parks. We wrap things up with some incredible photos of Club 33, which are almost a substitute for actually visiting in person.
2/24: More Good News from Knott’s, Disneyland gets Springy, Universal, Six Flags and SeaWorld News
The good news just keeps on coming out of Knott's Berry Farm, where the new General Manager is pushing major park beautification projects. Disneyland is absolutely bursting with Spring renewal and Disney California Adventure's Buena Vista Street races to the June 15th finish date. We also dive down to San Diego's SeaWorld, coast up to Magic Mountain and have a quick take at Universal Studios to see what all the big parks are preparing for Summer. Lots to cover in this SIX PARK UPDATE today . . . Yes, it was a busy week for us, but we think you'll enjoy what you see . . .
2/24: Disneyland Paris from Sketch to Reality One of the most treasured books in all of Disney fandom is, Disneyland Paris: From Sketch to Reality. Long unavailable, this stunning collectable tome has made a return to print for a very limited run. Werner Weiss interviews author Allaine Littaye about the making of this lovely homage to imagination and the power to build dreams. Then learn how you can get one of the few remaining copies for yourself.
2/23: Sue Kruse – Pressing Matters A couple of today’s topics have to do with Oscars, so let’s get busy with today’s Pressing Matters. Here are today’s topics: But Why Is It Named Oscar?, Leo And The Last Pair Of Slippers, Disney Wedding Planning, Flower Fields, Whales, and March At The Walt Disney Family Museum.
2/22: Samland Goes Blocky For Legoland Sam is a seasoned theme park goer and aficionado. His recent trip to Legoland in California left him with a new appreciation for the blockier things in life. How would Sam enjoy this family theme park geared to the toddler to tween set? We go land by land with Sam as he examines what clicks and what doesn't.
