Welcome to the MiceChat Round-Up of Disney and theme park news and discussions. If you haven't been on the boards this week we have you covered. There were a number of great trip reports from Disneyland this week, including one featuring time-lapse photography. We then move on to Walt Disney World and ask the question, "Is the critisism warranted?" We then feature the sad loss of a cherrished experience at Cedar Point. But that's not all! there is also a new MiceChatter video and we welcome the addition of a new weekly column to the MiceAge/MiceChat family. Lots to read, and even more to discuss!. - CakvalaSC

FROM THE MOUTH OF THE MOUSE:
Join us in welcoming the newest addition to the MiceChat/MiceAge family, Jeff Heimbuch's From the Mouth of the Mouse. Look for a new article each Wednesday along with the MiceChat Round-Up. Already very popular at its previous online home, the column focuses on the backbone of the magic, the cast members, and their stories.
Sarah delivers another fantastic MiceChatter video for our
MiceTube channel. Watch it now to find out why she loves Halloween!
Q. What happened to Andrew Mooney (Disney's consumer products chairman, who was formerly with Nike)?
A. There's an awful lot of speculation about his sudden resignation this week after twelve years with the Mouse. One thing that should be keep in mind is that the Disney Company starts their fiscal year next month (October). For many companies a new fiscal year also means new personnel, large projects and refreshed product offerings are put on the front burner as new budgets for the year come into play.

Summer is fading to autumn, and we have a couple end of summer trip reports. DCA’s entry area continues its grand transformation to yesterday’s Hollywood, but not before we offer a eulogy to former Sunshine Plaza. Then we also have a great time lapse video of Disneyland! ~ Aladdin
Paradise Pier concierge stay 8/30-9/01 Minnie Momma and family tell us about their concierge stay at the Paradise Pier Hotel, and then fill us in on all the characters, attractions and shows they had a chance to see!
So, back from Disneyland and have my power back after Irene. Now I get ready to go back to school. Before I do, let's see what I missed and live vicariously through the Walt Disney World forum before it's back to reality. ~yoyoflamingo
Where does much of the criticism come from towards some WDW attractions?
We all know we are very critical and protective of the Disney Properties, especially the theme parks. Because of that, Walt Disney World receives a lot of flack due to its seemingly lackluster upkeep and decisions. Buh asks if the criticism is warranted.
Wristband tech - Should we be excited or creeped out by this? toonaspie shares the latest rumor of Walt Disney World 'next gen' technology, a wristband that could be used for quite a bit in the Disney Parks. If this comes to fruition, is it a good idea or too Orwellian?
To our travelers abroad we have some great reports from around the world, than you for posting!
Walt Disney Family Museum in SF! Ilovemickey is speechless (almost) after visiting the Walt Disney Family Museum in San Francisco. Have you been there yet?
Six Flags 2012 Attractions!

End of an era at Cedar Point Ron W mourns the loss of Paddlewheel Excursions, one of the few attractions that is neither thrill ride nor kiddie ride.
DVC - Disney Vacation Club CSei2011 has some questions about DVC and is looking for information on how it works. Some of our MiceChat DVCers have chimed in with some great information about the program. So if you are interested and want to learn more or have something to add, check it out.

9/5: Disney World and Universal Orlando Halloween The Orlando Parkhopper is back with a new refreshed look today. If you're looking for news and photos from Disney World? and Orlando area parks and top attractions like Universal Studios, Islands of Adventure and Seaworld, you've come to the right place. This week, we find the Halloween spirit has already taken hold at the Orlando parks. In particular, we focus on the decorations going up in the Magic Kingdom. We also check out the latest progress on the Fantasyland expansion project. We then hop over to Universal Orlando for a full run-down on the scares in store for Halloween Horror nights. We round things out this week by checking out the Foxy happenings at Busch Gardens Tampa.
9/5: Buena Vista Street Detour, Halloween, Disneyland Hotel Progress
Guests passing through the front half of Disney California Adventure park may feel like they're walking through an endless maze of construction walls with new detours in place to accommodate the major Buena Vista Street construction that will continue into next summer. The minor inconvenience is only a small price to pay for the high-quality experiences Disney has planned and the park's temporary entrance corridor is actually quite a bit more pleasant to pass through than the former Sunshine Plaza was in its final weeks of operation. Over at Disneyland, Halloween Time has started to creep in along Main Street, U.S.A. with seasonal merchandise hitting store shelves and window displays getting Jack-O-Lanterns and other themed decorations. Elsewhere in the park, the Matterhorn's refurbishment has wrapped up as some refurbishment work at the Golden Horseshoe continues and the Haunted Mansion closes to install its annual holiday overlay.
9/4: Vacationeering – Disney Travel with Special Needs Planning a trip to the Disney parks requires lots of research. Today's Vacationeering takes a look at how and which hotels may be right for those with special travel needs.
9/3: Visits Disneyland, Korea, Seattle’s Woodland Zoo and Australia’s Movieworld
We have a fun little Weekend Update for you this long holiday weekend. First we have a wonderful Disneyland trip report. We follow that up with fascinating photos from South Korea. Stick around for some disgusting food options. Yuck! If you've never been to Seattle's Woodland Zoo, you'll be impressed with the fantastic photos we have to share with you. And we finish up our weekly journey at Australia's Movieworld. Enjoy your weekend.
9/2: Seasons Change, Halloween Events Announced, Construction Updates, New Panda Exhibit and More
Snap, the seasons change. At least that's the way it works at Disneyland and the Southern California theme parks. All of our local parks are currently in the progress of installing Halloween decorations and preparing for their haunt events. Even MiceChat get's into the act as we announce dates for our VIP "Nights of Horror" at Knott's Berry Farm, Universal Studios and Queen Mary. Today's update includes construction at Disneyland and DCA, major ride announcement at Six Flags, and Halloween preparations at Knott's and Universal. We even make a side trip down to San Diego to check out the brand new Panda Trek at the San Diego Zoo. It's a much improved experience over the previous Panda exhibit. This week's update is jam packed with photos and news from the SoCal parks. Enjoy!
9/1: SAMLAND – For The Love of ToonTown Our Thursday columnist, Sam, professes his love for Disneyland's ToonTown. He's hooked by the immersive theme, attention to urban planning techniques, and the rounded and squashed look of the buildings. Join us as we take a look at this land and how it came to be. Do you agree with Sam or is ToonTown a bust for you?
