| One Night Only
(continued)
The aforementioned door with the big D leads to the former Disney Gallery
patio but at this point we weren't ready to head out there; our
attention was directed to another door to the right which would lead us to the
first of the Dream Suite's two bedrooms. Before going through that door however,
Karen directed us to take a look at the floor. Throughout the Dream Suite there
is a reoccurring motif of leaves derived from the Disney family crest (as are
all the ubiquitous Ds). Inlaid in the floor of the hallway is a very pretty
swirling flower design, a nice touch.

Karen waved her magic wand (ok, her Disney ID card) in front of a mirrored D
plaque which unlocked the door to the right and we headed down a lovely hallway
that reminded me a little of a conservatory-type room (although since it is a
hallway, it's way too small to be a conservatory).

One wall is all French-door
style windows that looks onto the patio and though the hallway is plain, it
evokes the leaf theme with large potted plants and lovely, leafy, chandeliers.

And then ... you enter the Adventureland Master Bedroom (so named since it
borders Adventureland). Because Lillian Disney loved Victoriana, this bedroom
has been decorated with a Victorian tropical theme in mind and a little nod to
the Tiki Room's birds added in for good measure.

The room is filled with cool
and calming icy blue colors and splashes of Tarzan Treehouse green. The ceiling
is just amazing, decorated with more of that swirling leaf motif in between egg
and dart molding and a large leaf-patterned stained glass lamp. The bed in this
room is a heavily draped, and very inviting, canopy bed that just seems as
fluffy and light as a cloud (would that I could have plopped down in it, it
looked that comfy) and hanging over the head of the bed is a large picture of a
lagoon.

Each room in the Dream Suite features a little touch of Disney magic. In the
bedrooms it is referred to as the "Good Night Kiss" (which is exactly what it
says on the button you press to get this little bit of magic). In the
Adventureland Master Bedroom, among other things, the lights dim, stars in the
ceiling begin to twinkle, and if you look closely, you can see mermaids
appear in the painting of the lagoon. Nice way to go to sleep, no?
