What to do Dear Readers? A midnight screening with a deadline of that same
morning makes for some hard choices. My dilemma in assembling my column today
(and we should all have such pleasant ones) is that there are basically two
separate shows going on at the El Captain Theater right now.
While The Chronicles Of Narnia: Prince Caspian is up as is to be
expected on the big screen, there's also what has to be one of the most
extensive displays of props and artifacts from a Disney film ever, even taking
into account a history of so many previous stellar efforts at this venue.
After a late night discussion, my editor (Al) suggested our approach; let's
focus not on what everyone else will be doing today (yet another review of the
movie) but on the very special exhibit that is unique to this theater and that
so many of our far-flung readers may not get a chance to see for themselves.
Later on, as time permits, I'll chime in with my thoughts on the film itself
in the MiceChat discussion thread that is linked at the end. And before I
forget, my special thanks goes to Sarah Gillanders for all of the photos
today.
The theater lobby gets a full London subway makeover, mind the gap!
Costumes and props abound.
