Editor's Note: It's a lot of work to not
only cover a premiere at Disneyland, but to get it all written and assembled for
you overnight so you can see it the next day. Besides tipping our hat to
Sue, we must also thank Sarah Gillanders and Tina Gurney for their hard work
in assisting her and taking all of the photos you see today. - Al

There's an energy generated at movie premieres. If you ever get
a chance to go to one, you will understand exactly what I mean when I say that.
It's an almost indescribable thing. It starts off with a tiny buzz and steadily
grows into a gigantic roar. Lights flash. Fans scream. Media yells. And the
celebrities parade.

In the grand scheme of things, movies premieres are rather silly
really. A bunch of people walking down a red carpet so other people can look at
them. These parading celebrities are no different than you or I (except that
more people know who they are and well, they probably have a lot more money than
you or I do) so I'm not sure why we all turn out to gawk at them, but we do. The
whole process seems so surreal to me, as there are so many more important things
in this world.

And yet ... I'd be a liar if I said that premieres aren't fun.
Especially the one I went to Saturday night. It was for a movie you may have
heard of, Pirates of The Caribbean: At World's End. And it was in a place
you may have been a time or two, Disneyland. And darn it, silly or not, it was
wicked good fun.
Earlier in the day, before the parade of celebrities began, I found myself on a
raft being ferried over to Tom Sawyer's Island to have a look see. Now dear readers,
I'm sorry to tell you that there are no sneak peek pictures of the pirate invasion
of Tom's isle here today. I walked around a bit and saw that much work was still to
be done and felt that it would do a disservice to publish pictures at this point.
I can tell you though that what I saw has me excited about the island's pirate
takeover and you can bet that on May 25th I'll be heading over to the island to get
a good look at the finished product. I can't wait to get my interactive treasure map,
search for gold, and explore the island's caverns where I just might find a dead man's
chest. It should be loads of fun and I don't think I'm going to be missing Tom Sawyer
too much.
I left the Island and checked out the massive screen set up for
the movie. Third time's a charm as they really did a nifty job of
decorating the area for the premiere.
